Should America create its own central bank digital currency? Why or why not?
Yes, the US should develop its own CBDC. It would be able to compete directly with the PRC effort on the global stage. Creating a CBDC would create an alternate to the use of PRC CBDCs and strengthen the international financial exchange systems. Internal to the US, we could determine the correct mix of electronic and physical currency necessary to not stifle economic inovation, flexibility, and resiliance.
