National Security Strategy: The National Security Strategy (NSS) is a document prepared periodically by the executive branch of the government of the United States for Congress. It outlines the major national security concerns of the United States and how the administration plans to deal with them. The purpose of the NSS is to outline the president’s vision for America’s role in the world and highlight the president’s top national security priorities. 

Department of Defense: The Department of Defense is charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government directly related to national security and the United States Armed Forces.
