Do you think second fronts are an escalation or deterrent for war?

Russell,
as always brilliantly provocative. Second front? Great! On whose territory? If in the Baltic region than should we take over Kaliningrad and turn it either to Lithuania or Poland to stop a future (probably not too distant) corridor war?

This strategy of second fronts has been successful as an effective deterrent to controlling new aggression from bad actors while helping to dilute the present activities of bad actors. It seems this has been and continues to be an intelligent choice when accepted by alliances instead of entering into armed conflicts. If Nato deploys this second-front idea and continues implementing this structure seems just a matter of time before the current Ukraine conflicts would end.
The US is looking into providing this structure with the partners hoping to avoid significant disputes with China over twain.
